This division of the company
carries out Underwater Maintenance,
Survey and Repair Work. It is mainly
involved in the Marine Industry,
carrying out Underwater Surveys for
the Major Classification Societies
on the various vessels passing
through the area, utilizing
Underwater Video Recording Equipment
with two-way communication and still
digital underwater photography to
compile comprehensive reports.
Underwater Inspection Work is also
done for various paint companies,
including Hempel Paints and Kansai
Paints.
The division is equipped with
several numbers of cleaning and
polishing machines as well as wide
range of brushes and polishing disks
required in diving operations such
as hull cleaning and propeller
polishing. The specially designed
type of rotary brush kart used
during the cleaning operations is
equipped with pressure and speed
control valves which together with a
correct selection of brush enables
to achieve a superior cleaning
result.
In addition, the division has
several sizes of cofferdams. In
conjunction with the Steel
Fabrication Department, the division
is approved by Major Classification
Societies to perform “insert
plating” as a permanent repair.
Temporary repairs such as fitting of
sandwich plates, arresting of
cracks, replacement/renewal of
cathodic protection and blanking are
also some of the regular services
carried out by this department.
In the INDUSTRIAL sector, this
division has completed “Pier Pile
Inspections”, Pile Anode
replacement, Power Station &
Desalination Plant (DUBAL) Main Sea
Water Suction Inspection and
Cleaning, Emergency Fire Pump
Suction Strainer Cleaning (DPA &
EMARAT), “Shark Fence” Renewal,
Underwater Observation Chamber
Windows Installation, Cleaning and
Clearing of “Refreshment” Pipes and
Fish Farm Discharge Piping (EO).
